Batch Rename WordPress Images

This is free, open-source code originally written to rename several hundred images that had already been uploaded to WordPress using the standard media uploader.  The intent was to rename the files in place rather than having to re-upload each image with a new name and manually replace each image in all places that it may have been used. 

We wanted to rename the images with SEO-friendly names.  Maybe you've got a different need.  The code isn't commented but it includes notes and some basic instructions on its use.  This is not a plugin.  Basic PHP and a high comfort level with WordPress are needed to use this code.  Help can be provided for a fee if desired.  Contact information is included in the code.
